Compensation: $162,000, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications: Prior orthopedic experience required. 1-2 years minimum.

Summary

In conjunction with the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values this position will be crucial with direct patient care assisting Orthopedic Surgeons. This would include doing clinic and surgery assists in Star Valley as well as outlying communities. Perform daily patient care tasks in a clinic, surgical, ER, and inpatient settings. Orthopedic training and skills required. This is an at-will position.

Job Duties

• Perform direct patient care in a positive and professional manner under the supervision of Orthopedic Surgeons
• Take and review medical histories to assess the patients’ needs
• Examine and treat orthopedic patients in the clinic and Emergency Room settings
• Order and interpret tests as needed to diagnose further treatment
• Treat injuries, assist in emergency room as needed for orthopedic related cases
• Assist the surgeons in the surgery department and operating room
• Educate and counsel patients and family as to current situation, developing and implementing a treatment plan
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
• Round on post-operative surgery patients on the MedSurg floor
• Utilize EMR to track patients records
• Supervise support staff
• Attend appropriate meetings
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned•
