Orthopedic Technician
Under supervision/direction of a physician, performs specialized technical work involving orthopedic care of patients. Some supervisory and administrative duties.
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: College graduate.
Experience

Required: Good oral and written communication skills in the English language.

Ability to make safe decisions and work independently.

Thorough knowledge of orthopedic traction, bracing and casting procedures along with orthotic and prosthetic devices.

Ability to articulate descriptions of orthopedic conditions based on understanding of anatomical structures and their relationship with one another.

Understanding of proper application of aseptic technique in dressing change and setting surgical fields.

Preferred: 2 years as Orthopedic Technician
Certifications
Required: Certified by National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology. CPR certified.
