Indicon specializes in state-of-the-art Controls Design. Our core capabilities include Conveyor Controls, Tooling Controls, Aarell Process Controls, Vision System Integration, and UL‑Certified Control Systems.
Job Purpose
To carry out troubleshooting of controllers, electrical panels, and assemblies at customer sites. This role involves working at customer sites. Adherence to all requirements and expectations of those sites is mandated (Safety, PPE, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting of panels, controls, and electrical assemblies
- Conduct corrective actions or repairs using approved equipment and methods.
- Document all findings and corrective actions accurately (computer logs, forms, photographs, video whenever possible).
- Refer to assembly drawing and schematics.
- Comply with LOTO (Lock‑Out Tag‑Out) procedures.
- Complete documentation requirements, both paper and electronic.
- Provide reports on same day as repairs are conducted.
- Connect and disconnect a variety of cables, harnesses, and test interfaces.
Required Competencies & Traits
- Ability to comply with all company safety standards and WSH regulations.
- Team player with strong independent work habits.
- Mechanical/electrical sub‑assembly knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical layout drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with Red Tag / Non‑conformance tagging systems.
- Ability to understand and apply work instructions.
- Competence using common hand and power tools (drills, torque tools, etc.).
- Ability to read and use quality checklists.
- Ability to work efficiently and self motivated.
- Ethical, reliable, and conscientious.
Essential Physical Requirements
- May sit or stand while performing duties.
- Able to lift up to 12 kg (approx. 25 lbs) occasionally.
- No conductive jewelry or accessories should be worn while performing OSTR duties.
- Sitting: 50–55%
- Standing: 30–35%
- Walking / reaching / bending: 5–10%
Education & Experience Requirements
Required:
- Education in electrical principles and technologies, or equivalent work experience.
- Electrical background or prior manufacturing floor experience (Assembly, Verification, and Inspection).
- Strong experience in testing department and knowledge of panel assembly operations and functions.
- Ability to understand engineering diagrams, schematics, and relay technical communication.
- STRONG troubleshooting abilities.
Things to note:
OSTR role needs to have transportation, along with being able to be on call, not all time need to dispatch but at least to be able to respond to AMAT regarding potential OSTR calls. We will be providing allownace for that. the OSTR should also have electrical background, along with being able to test fully functional panels.
When OSTR is not on call, require to work in production or test to support production.

Working Environment
- Work conducted at customer sites may require using ladders, harnesses, full body PPE, hand tools, and digital multimeters. Work should be conduct on de-energized equipment only.
- Work conducted in an electrical test cell, while at Indicon facility, requires working with energized equipment from 208 VAC to 480 VAC.
- Must adhere to required testing PPE: long-sleeved FR clothing, long pants, safety EH rated shoes, arc‑flash helmet/shield, and Electrical rated gloves with leather protectors when testing.
- Must adhere to standard testing practices while working with energized equipment (19-steps ESWP).
