OTR Driver

Responsible for safe
and secure transportation of KSi product/equipment.
Travel Expectations:
May be on the road 4 to 5 nights per week.
Duties:
- Responsible for adhering to DOT regulations at
all times while driving: These include (but are not limited
to): Accurately and honestly filling out log book,
performing “Daily Vehicle Inspection Report”, and reporting
any and all roadside inspections and vehicle defects to
management
- Willingness to stay in
KSi Transportation provided sleeper cab all nights while on
the road;
- Exception is when on
34 hour restart away from home base
- Understands and carries out instructions given orally and in
writing, including those on BOL’s, manifests, and other shipping
documents to determine location and time of
delivery
- Responsible to take
“ownership” of vehicle: making sure oil changes and other
preventative services are done in a timely
manner
- Ensure a safe environment
for employees and the general public
- Loading/Unloading of products at customer site and KSi
plant
- Responsible for checking
loads for safety and security before leaving
site
- Responsible for having
customer representative sign off that they have received
equipment/product that was delivered and returning this
paperwork to supervisor
- Reports
all incidents involving driver or company equipment promptly
and accurately. This includes any moving violations received
in both CMV and personal vehicle.
- Performs roadside inspections as required by the
law.
- Maintain professionalism in
front of customer at all times
- Set up and install conveyor undercarriages and other
miscellaneous equipment at customer sites
- Set up and tear down of KSi equipment at company sponsored
events and shows
- Sitting in a
vehicle for long periods of times
- Work in adverse weather conditions without temperature or
environmental controls at times
- Willingness to help other departments when/if
needed
- Always keeps tractor and
trailers in a clean condition
Requirements
- 2 or more years of experience driving under DOT
standards is preferred
- At least 23 years old, according to FMCSA’s
standards
- No more than 1 moving
violation in the past 12 months, 3 moving violations within
the past 3 years, and no more than 1 not at fault accident
within the past 3 years
- No
major violations in the past 3 years:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or
drugs
- Leaving the scene of an
accident
- Driving while
license is suspended or revoked
- Reckless driving (failure to control, negligent or
careless driving)
- Other
serious violations (i.e. habitual violators, speeding in
excess of 15 mph over limit)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to self-manage and use time efficiently and responsibly
