Outbound Sales Development Representative
OVERVIEW
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an Outbound Sales Development Representative. Our client is a US-based manufacturer of over the counter (OTC) medicines, currently established in New Jersey and expanding their sales footprint state by state across the United States. They sell directly to wholesale pharmacies and nursing homes and are looking for a dedicated outbound professional to open doors and book qualified meetings with the right decisionmakers. This is a fully remote, individual-contributor role focused entirely on outbound prospecting and appointment setting — the client's internal team handles all closing. Success in this role comes down to disciplined follow-up, accurate list management, and the ability to work systematically through a large and varied prospect base while maintaining reliable output aligned with US Eastern Time business hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and manage prospect lists on a state-by-state basis, carefully segmenting wholesale pharmacies (primary target) from retail pharmacies and nursing homes (secondary segment)
Conduct outbound outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn to connect with qualified buyers and book meetings on behalf of the client's sales team
Follow up consistently and persistently with prospects until a meeting is secured or the lead is formally closed out
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date CRM at all times, ensuring the pipeline reflects current activity and lead status
Work through target states in a structured, methodical manner, prioritizing outreach based on agreed sequencing and list quality
Collaborate with the client as needed to refine targeting criteria and ensure booked meetings meet the required qualification standards
REQUIREMENTS
Matric (Grade 12) as a minimum; a National Diploma or relevant NQF Level 6 qualification is advantageous
At least 2 years of proven outbound sales or appointment-setting experience, preferably into US or other international markets
Strong spoken and written English, with a confident and professional telephone manner
Demonstrated ability to manage lists, work with data, and keep CRM records accurate and current
Highly self-managed and organized, with the ability to maintain consistent output while working independently in a remote environment
Availability and willingness to work standard US Eastern Time (EST) business hours
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Prior experience selling into or prospecting within the US market, particularly in a remote capacity
Background in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or B2B distribution sales
Familiarity with outbound tools and CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar Experience targeting healthcare buyers, pharmacy groups, or institutional clients such as nursing homes or care facilities
