Outdoor CCTV Installation Site Engineer

The Outdoor CCTV Installation Site Engineer is responsible for the planning, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of outdoor surveillance systems. The engineer will oversee site works, coordinate with contractors and stakeholders, ensure compliance with safety requirements, and deliver CCTV projects according to schedule and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Site Survey & Planning

• Conduct site surveys to determine CCTV camera locations, field of view, power availability, and communication requirements.
  
• Prepare installation drawings, cable routing plans, and work schedules.
  
• Coordinate with authorities, clients, subcontractors, and utility providers for site access and permits.
  

Installation & Commissioning

• Supervise the installation of outdoor CCTV cameras, poles, cabinets, network switches, and supporting infrastructure.
  
• Ensure proper installation of fiber optic, network, and power cables.
  
• Configure IP cameras, video management systems (VMS), NVRs, and network equipment.
  
• Perform testing, commissioning, and system integration activities.
  
• Verify camera image quality, coverage, recording, and communication performance.
  

Project Management

• Monitor work progress and ensure project milestones are achieved.
  
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and telecommunication contractors.
  
• Prepare daily site reports, progress updates, and documentation.
  
• Manage project materials, equipment, and manpower resources.
  

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for CCTV systems.
  
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and communication faults.
  
• Attend site incidents and emergency breakdowns when required.
  
• Ensure high system availability and reliability.
  

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and permit-to-work requirements.
  
• Conduct risk assessments and toolbox meetings.
  
• Monitor contractor safety performance and quality standards.
  
• Maintain proper documentation of installation and maintenance activities.
  

Documentation

• Prepare as-built drawings, commissioning reports, testing records, and handover documents.
  
• Maintain asset inventory and maintenance records.
  
• Provide technical reports and recommendations for system improvements.
