Outpatient SUD counselors provide individual and group counseling for adults with substance use disorders at a California non-profit, conducting ASAM assessments, treatment planning, and coordinating care with community resources; Spanish bilingual proficiency is required for one position. Bi-Bett Corporation, a California non-profit engaged for the past 50 years in the treatment and recovery of adults with primary substance use and co-occurring disorders alcohol or other drug problems. Originally based in Contra Costa, Bi-Bett now operates residential and outpatient SUD programs, recovery residences and DUI Education in Alameda and Solano Counties.
Two openings are currently available. Spanish bilingual proficiency is required for one position and preferred for the other.

Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive intake assessments and collaborative treatment planning/problem list according to ASAM guidelines.
- Collaborate and coordinate care with community resources.
- Follow Bi-Bett Policies and Procedures
- Maintain welcoming and culturally appropriate counseling and education.
- Nurture relationships, collaborate and coordinate services with community partners.
- Engage in group and individual supervision to discuss cases, consult in crisis situations, and treatment planning/problem list and execution.
- Set appropriate limits to ensure safety for beneficiaries and staff.
- Test for alcohol or drug intoxication when program requirements or clinical necessity dictates, either by observed urine testing or use of a breathalyzer.
- Continuing Education is a requirement by law for your certification and agency contract requirements.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Provide individual counseling, group counseling, and intensive SUD outpatient treatment services using evidence-based practices.
- Provide services in accordance with professional ethics, agency policies, county contracts, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Complete all required documentation within established agency timelines.
- Maintain complete and accurate client records within the agency's electronic health record
- Develop discharge plans and coordinate continuing care to support long-term recovery
- Collaborate with medical providers and support clients participating in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services when appropriate
- Respond to client, referral source, and professional communications within one business day
