Outreach Specialist
Are you an outgoing, community-minded professional who enjoys connecting people with meaningful resources and opportunities? People Helping People has been the foundation of Senior Friendship Centers for over 50 years, and we are looking to hire a dynamic Outreach Specialist to join our Marketing and Communication Team! The Outreach Specialist will be attending outreach events throughout Southwest Florida with the goal of educating seniors and other local organizations about all the programs and services Senior Friendship Centers provides.
The Outreach Specialist will be the face of Senior Friendship Centers while attending donor events, network meetings, and many other tabling events. The work schedule will depend heavily on scheduled outreach events, with some evening and weekend hours. The ability to travel to different SW Florida counties is a must. We are looking to hire an enthusiastic individual with exceptional customer service, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. Having a background in marketing and communications is a plus.
This is a part-time, approximately 10 hours/week position with a varying schedule. Some events may occur during evenings and/or weekends. If you are interested in joining our growing team and sharing your talents with Senior Friendship Centers as our Outreach Specialist, we want to hear from you!
The mission of the Senior Friendship Centers is to build vibrant communities by advancing wellness, connection, and enrichment throughout the journey of aging. Older adults throughout Southwest Florida rely on Senior Friendship Centers for help with nutrition, adult day services, social engagement, education, help in times of crisis, and so much more.
Essential Functions:

Attend community events, health and volunteer fairs, donor events, and more to share information about SFC and to recruit donors, volunteers, members, participants, and clients.

Conduct presentations and informational sessions to educate the community about available programs and services for seniors.

Present in front of groups of diverse audiences, tailoring presentations to ensure content is appropriate for each group and setting.

Collaborate with staff to ensure outreach resources are effectively distributed and utilized.

Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and community contacts.

Track participation and feedback to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts.

Work with program staff to identify emerging needs within the community and propose new initiatives.

Train and engage volunteers to assist with outreach efforts as needed.

Maintain schedule of outreach volunteers and track volunteer time.

Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and healthcare providers to increase awareness of Senior Friendship Centers’ offerings.
Organizational:

Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

Must comply with all Senior Friendship Centers personnel policies.

Must protect the safety and health of staff, volunteers, participants, and others by observing and following the organization’s safety and incident policies.
