Drive overnight van shifts to transport clients to hospitals and treatment centers, monitor vitals, and assist with admissions while working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Our Withdrawal Management program at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) provides 24/7 acute care services to clients who are intoxicated and/or in acute withdrawal. Team consists of Shift Coordinators, Addiction Technicians, Peer Recovery Coaches, Case Managers, and Outreach Drivers. We are seeking a full-time Outreach Van Driver to provide transportation for the organization's clients. The driver will respond to requests from contracted and approved agencies outside of organization for transportation of clients and transport admitted clients to hospitals, aftercare or other approved services as directed. The Outreach Van Drivers also may monitor vitals signs and withdrawal symptoms, complete risk assessments, interface with community partners such as hospitals and law enforcement, and more. The ideal candidate works well on a team and in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be comfortable serving clients who are intoxicated and/or in acute withdrawal, transporting clients to and from hospitals and treatment centers, and providing good customer service inside the clinic and out in the community.
Schedule. This position is fully Onsite/In-person. Available schedule is:
- Wednesday - Saturday overnights, 8:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Salary for this role. Starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.
- $19.29 – $27.50 per hour.
Shift Differential Pay. The Day weekend shift differential is paid from 7 am to 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays only; the Swing shift differential is paid from 3 pm to 11 pm; and the Overnight shift differential is paid from 11 pm - 7 am
- Day Weekend (Sat, Sun): $1.50/hour
- Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $1.50/hour
- Swing Weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun): $2.75/hour
- Overnight Weekday (Monday - Thursday): $2.75/hour
- Overnight Weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday): $4.00/hour
Bilingual Language Differential Pay. Employees who successfully pass a language assessment are eligible to receive bilingual differential pay. This differential is provided as a fixed amount of $3,000 per calendar year, paid on a bi‑weekly basis across 26 pay periods, and prorated based on hire date and full‑time equivalency (FTE). Eligibility and payment are subject to the language requirements of the position and the employee’s demonstrated proficiency in the language.
Essential Functions:
- Respond to requests from contracted and approved agencies outside of organization for transportation of clients.
- Transport admitted clients to hospitals, aftercare or other approved services as directed.
- Monitor and care for persons being transported.
- Assist in maintaining Outreach vehicles.
- Assist in admission/discharge processes and taking vital signs.
- De-escalate clients in crisis situations.
- Maintain telephone contact with base facility and maintain legible and accurate written records.
- Provide professional interface with referral sources to help insure clients are referred appropriately and to maintain good relationships with referral sources.
- Assess clients as to alcohol/drug intoxication, general physical and behavioral health, level of motivation and other pertinent factors and transport to appropriate facility.
- Staff member will complete needed care coordination tasks for their assigned role.
