WH Security, a subsidiary of Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association, has been protecting homes and businesses for more than 25 years with security systems, video surveillance, access control, and 24/7 monitoring services across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.


We're looking for an Outside Security Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot security systems at customer locations across the Twin Cities metro area and Western Wisconsin. In this role, you'll work independently in the field, helping customers protect what matters most while utilizing the latest security technology. From installing cameras and alarm systems to diagnosing issues and providing outstanding customer service, you'll play a key role in delivering the reliable solutions and peace of mind our customers depend on every day. Compensation

$25–$33 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Higher compensation may be available for candidates who hold a current PLT license.

Location

This field-based position serves customers throughout the Greater Twin Cities metro area and Western Wisconsin. Technicians are provided a company vehicle and travel directly from home to customer job sites each day. Employees attend a weekly team meeting at Wright-Hennepin's headquarters in Rockford, Minnesota, where they replenish inventory, fuel vehicles, and coordinate vehicle maintenance through our onsite mechanic.


What You'll Do

Security & Installation Services

  • Perform all aspects of security system installation, programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and report mechanical or safety concerns to management.
  • Manage product inventory, tools, and materials required for daily work.
  • Assist Sales Representatives with technical information and proposal preparation as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while educating customers on system operation and functionality.

Compliance & Industry Standards

  • Stay current on state regulations, licensing requirements, industry standards, and applicable code requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies, products, and security industry trends.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Team & Company Participation

  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and company events as required.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and technical training opportunities.
  • Collaborate with team members to support department and organizational goals.

Working Conditions

This position works primarily in customer homes and businesses throughout the service territory. Work is performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and may require travel throughout the day using a company-provided vehicle.

The role requires frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying equipment, using hand and power tools, and performing detailed technical work involving wiring, installation, and troubleshooting of security systems.
