Field technician inspects overhead power lines for damage, hazards, and compliance with safety standards, documenting findings and reporting issues for maintenance teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all works is carried out in adherence to ESB safety standards

  • Ensure Survey is carried out in line with ESB guidelines

  • Ensure all survey findings are recorded accurately

  • Report all Near misses/Good catches encountered onsite

  • Checking poles for rot or damage

  • Complete Madison Bore checks

  • Identify headgear that needs replacement

  • Check overhead conductor for damage

  • Check ground clearance in adjacent span to pole

  • Identify any hazards on the network

  • Identify any upgrade works that are required at pole location

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working on ESB networks an advantage but not essential as training will be provided

  • Must be confident working on their own initiative

  • Safe pass

  • Full, clean, manual driving license
