The Opportunity
Join OCU and play a key role in delivering overhead line infrastructure projects that support the UK's growing electricity network. As a Project Manager, you'll take ownership of projects from initial award through to completion, ensuring delivery is safe, commercially successful, and completed in line with client expectations.
- Lead the delivery of overhead line and electrical distribution projects from mobilisation through to completion.
- Develop and maintain project programmes to ensure contractual milestones and customer connection dates are achieved.
- Coordinate resources, operational teams, and outage requirements to maximise efficiency and project performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project reporting, programme updates, and contractual requirements in line with client expectations.
- Monitor project risks, issues, and constraints, implementing solutions to protect delivery targets.
- Ensure project information, documentation, and management systems are accurately maintained and updated.
- Drive commercial and operational performance to achieve programme, quality, and financial objectives.
Essential
- Experience delivering projects within the electrical distribution, utilities, or power infrastructure sector.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction and network delivery environments.
- Experience managing projects operating under CDM regulations.
- Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Bonus if you hold a recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 or equivalent.
- It would be great if you hold current or previous DNO authorisations.
- It would be great if you have NRSWA Supervisor accreditation.
- Experience working within DNO, ICP, or electrical distribution delivery environments would be advantageous.
