Oversee overnight respite bed operations for homeless individuals, ensuring safety, compliance, and client support while managing staff and documentation.
Overnight Program Operations
- Provide direct supervision and oversight of overnight respite bed operations.
- Ensure all respite locations remain safe, clean, organized, and compliant with program standards.
- Conduct regular safety rounds, wellness checks, and site inspections.
- Ensure clients follow program expectations, safety guidelines, and community standards.
- Monitor client arrivals, departures, and overnight accommodations.
- Address operational issues and communicate concerns to program leadership.
Client Support and Crisis Intervention
- Provide trauma-informed support to clients experiencing homelessness and other life challenges.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral health concerns, conflicts, and emergency situations.
- Utilize crisis de-escalation techniques to maintain safety.
- Identify clients requiring additional support and make appropriate referrals to case management, medical, or behavioral health services.
- Support harm reduction practices and promote client engagement in services.
Staff Supervision and Leadership
- Provide guidance and direction to overnight respite staff.
- Ensure staff complete assigned responsibilities, documentation, and required tasks.
- Monitor staff adherence to agency policies, confidentiality requirements, and professional standards.
- Report staff performance concerns, incidents, and operational barriers to leadership.
- Assist with training and mentoring of respite staff.
Documentation and Compliance
- Ensure completion of required overnight documentation, including:
- Respite bed logs
- Client attendance records
- Incident reports
- Shift reports
- Safety check documentation
- Supply inventories
- Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with agency and funding requirements.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality standards, DHS requirements, and agency policies.
Safety and Emergency Response
- Respond to medical emergencies, safety incidents, and crisis situations.
- Contact emergency services when necessary and complete required incident documentation.
- Ensure emergency procedures are followed, including evacuation and safety protocols.
- Maintain communication with security, outreach teams, and leadership as needed.
Facility and Supply Management
- Ensure respite sites maintain appropriate supplies, cleanliness, and client necessities.
- Conduct inventory checks and communicate supply needs.
- Report maintenance, safety hazards, and environmental concerns promptly.
- Ensure sites are secured appropriately during overnight operations.
