The Night Supervisor is responsible for leading overnight store operations, ensuring merchandise is stocked efficiently, store presentation standards are maintained, and operational goals are achieved. This position supervises Night Stockers and overnight associates, coordinates workflow, supports inventory accuracy, and helps prepare the store for daily business. The Night Supervisor promotes a safe, productive, and customer-ready environment while supporting company operational standards and leadership objectives.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development- Supervise, coach, and develop Night Stockers and overnight team members.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor completion of overnight workload.
- Provide training and guidance on stocking procedures, safety standards, and operational expectations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and productivity.
- Communicate performance concerns and opportunities to department and store leadership.
- Coordinate and oversee nightly stocking and replenishment activities.
- Ensure merchandise is stocked according to company standards and planograms.
- Monitor workflow to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Verify completion of nightly operational priorities.
- Prepare the store for opening by ensuring all departments are customer-ready.
- Monitor product replenishment and inventory levels.
- Ensure products are stocked, rotated, and faced correctly.
- Support inventory control procedures and inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Identify and communicate out-of-stock conditions.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as assigned.
- Maintain attractive, organized, and fully stocked sales areas.
- Ensure promotional displays and seasonal merchandise are properly set and maintained.
- Monitor store conditions and correct presentation issues.
- Verify pricing, signage, and display standards are properly executed.
- Support store merchandising initiatives and resets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
- Promote a safe work environment and monitor safe work practices.
- Address safety hazards immediately and report concerns to store leadership.
- Ensure equipment is used safely and properly maintained.
- Support loss prevention and asset protection initiatives.
- Coordinate communication between overnight and daytime leadership teams.
- Assist with receiving, backroom organization, and freight management activities.
- Support store leadership during inventory, remodels, and special projects.
- Monitor productivity and labor utilization throughout the shift.
- Serve as the overnight leader on duty when assigned.
- Provide courteous and professional service to customers when the store is open during overnight operations.
- Assist customers with product location and basic inquiries.
- Support a positive shopping experience through store readiness and product availability.
- Address customer concerns and report significant issues to management.
