Summary

Student role assisting with ticket sales, office tasks, and production coordination for campus performances at Oakton College.

Overview:

This position involves selling tickets during the weekday as well as evening & weekends preceding performances, office work, distribution of promotional material (on campus), and assisting the production coordinator with auditions.

Campus Location: Des Plaines

Length of Employment:

August 2026- May 2027, with opportunity for assignment renewal.

Hours Available:

Monday- Friday: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and 6:00- 9:00 pm.

Schedule Flexibility:

The schedule is flexible.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities (TDRs) and Learning Outcomes:

- Selling Tickets (CM, PF, TC)

- Office work (CD, CM, TW, TC

- Distribution of promotional material (TW, TC)

- Assisting the production coordinator with auditions (CM, PF, TW, TC)

Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities or KSOAs)

Qualified candidates will have the following competencies and skills.

  • Must be a currently enrolled at Oakton College in at least 6 credit hours during the Fall and Spring semesters. Employment over the summer is allowed for students taking at least 1 credit class during the summer, or students continuing registration into the following Fall semester.
  • Must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good standing at Oakton College.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrated reliability and responsibility.
  • Friendly, flexible, organized, courteous, and punctuality a must.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills with strong detail orientation preferred.
  • Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office and Google technology (GSUITE) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Some evening and weekend hours.
  • Ability to complete assignments at both the Skokie and Des Plaines campuses is preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
