Paid Social Associate Director

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role overseeing paid social performance across a portfolio of client accounts.
You’ll combine deep platform expertise with day-to-day account oversight, quality control, and strategic guidance.
The role offers the opportunity to manage enterprise-level client relationships while coaching and developing junior team members.
You’ll shape full-funnel strategies spanning awareness, consideration, conversion, retention, and creative testing.
You’ll also help connect paid social with paid search, creative, analytics, and programmatic for integrated media solutions.
As the discipline evolves, you’ll contribute to AI-enabled workflows, automation, QA processes, and scalable best practices.

Accountabilities
- Provide day-to-day strategic oversight and quality control across a portfolio of paid social accounts, ensuring campaign execution, strategy, and reporting meet high standards.
- Coach and guide junior account teams on campaign strategy, platform execution, optimization, testing, reporting, and client communication.
- Directly manage a select portfolio of enterprise clients, acting as a senior strategic partner and maintaining strong relationships.
- Stay hands-on within advertising platforms, stepping in to audit, troubleshoot, launch, optimize, or stabilize campaigns when needed.
- Oversee onboarding for new accounts and ensure campaigns, processes, and account structures are established effectively.
- Manage complex or escalated client needs, communicate strategic recommendations, gather feedback, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Develop and communicate full-funnel paid social strategies covering awareness, consideration, conversion, retention, and creative testing.
- Partner with paid search, creative, analytics, programmatic, and client strategy teams to integrate social into broader cross-channel media plans.
- Help evolve paid social best practices, QA standards, campaign workflows, reporting automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve team efficiency and scalability.
- Maintain training materials, onboarding resources, process documentation, and other knowledge-management resources for the paid social team.
- Lead internal training sessions and discussions while contributing to internal or external speaking opportunities.
- Identify significant client or account risks and escalate them to senior leadership with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Support new-business initiatives through audits, strategic decks, pitches, and account growth planning.
- 4–6 years of paid media experience, including deep hands-on expertise in paid social strategy, buying, optimization, and measurement.
- Strong experience across Meta and TikTok, with additional exposure to platforms such as Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Reddit, and/or X.
- Demonstrated experience across both performance marketing and brand planning, with a strong understanding of full-funnel paid social.
- Experience developing campaigns across awareness, consideration, conversion, retention, and creative testing.
- Previous experience coaching, training, or informally mentoring junior team members on strategy and execution.
- Experience analyzing campaign performance and using tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or comparable platforms.
- Experience developing customer acquisition campaigns across multiple industries and client types, with ecommerce/retail and lead-generation experience preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to respond effectively to evolving client and account needs.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace, Excel, Google Slides, Asana, or comparable productivity and project-management tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled advertising, automation, reporting, or ad-operations platforms such as Smartly or Sprinklr is a plus.
- Knowledge of paid search and broader cross-channel media planning is advantageous.
- Exposure to programmatic, retail media, influencer marketing, lifecycle/email, SEO, incrementality testing, brand lift, or conversion lift is valued.
- Experience contributing to new-business pitches, strategic audits, account-growth planning, or integrated agency teams is a plus.
- Salary: $100,000–$115,000 annually, with individual compensation determined by factors including experience, skills, education, location, scope of responsibility, and market conditions.
