PAINTER
Summary
Performs building maintenance and painting tasks, including surface prep, painting, and repairs, while ensuring safety and documenting work.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lists of works, materials, tools, and machinery needed for each task to ensure readiness and efficiency
- Conduct inspections before and after work to plan and verify task completion accurately
- Communicate progress updates clearly to Supervisors, including before, during, and after work on site
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting on exterior areas and gondolas by cleaning and smoothing surfaces
- Apply putty or plaster to repair cracks and surface imperfections before painting
- Provide hands-on support to building operations by performing assigned maintenance and repair tasks
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on designated areas to maintain building condition
- Document routine inspection findings and corrective actions to ensure accurate records and follow-up
- Respond promptly to work orders issued by operations and management to address maintenance needs
- Mix and apply paint correctly according to job requirements to achieve quality finishes
- Protect furniture and fixtures from damage before and during painting activities
- Perform daily inspections of building premises to monitor safety measures and identify issues
- Attend early morning site meetings to coordinate daily work plans and safety briefings
- Follow all required safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned to support building operations and maintenance
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in similar roles involving building maintenance and painting
- Ability to commit to overtime work when required
- Ability to calculate surface area and plan paint usage efficiently
- Ability to work safely at heights
- Availability to work on weekends and public holidays as needed
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate resourcefulness, and manage work pressure effectively
