PAINTER SUPERVISOR I

You will serve as a PAINTER SUPERVISOR I in the Preservation Shop (Code 970), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

You will exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing trade and labor work.

You will plan sequence of operations for groups of employees supervised.

You will interpret blueprints accompanying job orders, requisitions tools, materials and equipment as needed.

You will resolve working problems and take necessary corrective actions to overcome such delays as bottlenecks, equipment breakdown, material shortages.

You will inspect work in progress and upon completion to assure efficiency, economy and safety of operations.

You will train subordinates in work methods and procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, and safe work practices.
