Our client, a reputable and well known manufacturing business is looking to appoint an Panel Wirer to join a growing electrical manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in building and wiring control panels who can confidently interpret electrical schematics and work to a high standard of quality.
The successful Panel Wirer will play a key role in the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control panels for a variety of industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels from engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings accurately.
- Install electrical components including relays, PLCs, contactors, circuit breakers, terminal blocks, and variable speed drives.
- Route, terminate, label, and test wiring to company and industry standards.
- Carry out panel modifications and fault finding where required.
- Perform electrical continuity and functional testing prior to dispatch.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical standards and health & safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Work closely with engineers and production teams to meet project deadlines.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Panel Wirer, Electrical Fitter, or Control Panel Builder.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience wiring industrial control panels.
- Excellent understanding of electrical components and control systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
