As a member of our Legal team, you’ll play an important role in helping us operate responsibly, protect our brand, support innovation, and navigate an ever-changing global business landscape.
Role Overview
As our Paralegal, you’ll be a trusted legal and business partner supporting product development, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, contracts, governance, and other legal initiatives. You'll work closely with teams throughout the organization to help ensure our business operates effectively, ethically, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
This is a research-intensive, analytical role for someone who enjoys tackling questions where the answer isn’t immediately apparent. You’ll investigate legal and regulatory requirements, identify risks and broader business implications, and turn complex findings into clear, practical recommendations.
You’ll work closely with teams across the organization to identify legal, regulatory, and intellectual property considerations early and support products from concept through market.
If you enjoy being handed a complex question, figuring out what you need to know, finding the governing authority, connecting the dots across the business, and recommending a path forward, you’ll likely thrive in this role.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the Product teams throughout the product-development process to identify regulatory, intellectual property, testing, labeling, packaging, customs, import/export, environmental, and market-access considerations, including preliminary trademark and patent research and review of relevant patent claims.
- Conduct substantive legal and regulatory research on complex or unfamiliar issues, using statutes, regulations, agency guidance, case law, standards, and other authoritative sources to determine what applies, identify risks and information gaps, and develop practical recommendations for the business.
- Manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademark, copyright, and patent administration, filings, renewals, monitoring, enforcement activities, and coordination with outside counsel.
- Review, draft, redline, and negotiate contracts within established guidelines, identifying legal and business risks and recommending practical revisions or alternative language.
- Work cross-functionally to understand the broader business impact of legal issues and identify how decisions may affect Product Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Technology, and other areas of the organization.
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments and industry standards, assess their potential impact on the company, and recommend appropriate action.
- Support broader corporate compliance, governance, consumer protection, supply-chain due diligence, data protection, cybersecurity, and Demonstrator Policy initiatives.
- Build strong partnerships across the organization while exercising sound judgment, discretion, and appropriate independence.
What Makes You Successful
You’ll likely thrive in this role if you:
- Are intellectually curious and enjoy digging into complex questions where the answer isn’t obvious.
- Know how to find, evaluate, and apply authoritative legal and regulatory sources.
- Ask thoughtful questions, recognize what information is missing, and identify issues others may not initially see.
- Turn research and analysis into clear, practical recommendations, not just information.
- Balance legal risk with business realities and consider how decisions may affect the broader organization.
- Take ownership, manage competing priorities, and know when an issue requires escalation or specialized expertise.
- Communicate complex legal concepts clearly and build strong relationships with legal, technical, and business partners.
