Paratransit Bus Driver/Non-CDL

RATP Dev USA is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and dependable Paratransit Bus Drivers to join our team supporting the Lextran Wheels contract in Lexington, KY. In this role, you will provide essential origin-to-destination transportation for individuals with disabilities, seniors, and community members throughout the service area.

No Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. If you have a clean driving record, a valid standard driver’s license, and a customer-first attitude, we provide comprehensive, paid, hands-on training to get you certified and confident on the road.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Vehicle Operation: Safely drive cutaway vans and paratransit vehicles along scheduled routes and on-demand pickups in full compliance with traffic laws and transit safety guidelines

• Passenger Assistance & ADA Support: Assist passengers boarding and exiting the vehicle, safely operate mechanical wheelchair lifts, and secure mobility devices using 4-point tie-downs and occupant restraint systems

• Customer Service: Treat all passengers with dignity, patience, empathy, and respect, ensuring a smooth, secure, and comfortable ride

• Inspections & Reporting: Perform required daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections; immediately report maintenance needs, mechanical defects, or safety concerns

• Dispatch Communication: Maintain two-way radio contact with dispatchers, report route delays, heavy traffic, and schedule adjustments, and adhere to manifest assignments

Qualifications & Requirements

• Driver’s License: Valid regular state driver’s license (Class C or standard operator’s license) held for at least 3 consecutive years

• Driving Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no serious moving violations or suspensions

• Regulatory Clearances: Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a DOT physical examination, pre-employment drug screen (DOT/FTA compliant), and a comprehensive background check

• Customer Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, emotional intelligence, and patience when assisting elderly passengers or individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities

• Availability: Flexibility to work assigned shifts, which may include early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, or holidays based on operational schedule needs
