Parks Summer Labourer 2026
(Until September 2026)
Position Overview: As a Parks Summer Labourer, you will assist in maintaining parks, beachfront areas, sports fields, cemeteries, trails, and facilities, while also supporting scheduled summer special events.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Picking up garbage and maintaining the beachfront.
- Operating pickup trucks and trailers to get to and from job sites.
- Using riding and push mowers, trimmers, and other maintenance equipment.
- Working with the Arborist, and Beautification team to complete tasks.
- Supporting Town event setup and cleanup.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled full-time in post-secondary programs for the next academic year.
- Ability to work varied shifts (5 am to 1 pm or 1 pm to 9 pm) weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Physically capable of performing manual labour in all weather conditions.
- Strong public relations and communication skills are an asset.
- Experience in beach/park operations, horticulture, or landscaping is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the Town of Wasaga Beach is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
Requirements:
- Valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s License, and provide a clean Driver’s abstract upon hire
- Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal Reference Check, Level 1 upon hire
- Must have CSA-approved work boots (minimum 6” height to cover the ankle)
