This part time position is primarily responsible for helping to maintain the animal care shelter premises and the animals being housed there.
- The nature of the work includes frequently lifting more than 40 lbs, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, standing, and walking. At least half of the work is performed outside.
- Ability to work and care for animals that do not always cooperate
- Up to 20 hours per week.
- Must be available for weekend hours
- Must be capable of working on site alone
- Most shifts are half days
- Part time hours are limited to 1000 hours in a calendar year
Examples of Duties:
- Clean, care for and feed animals
- Maintain cleanliness of cages/kennels and shelter
- Light maintenance work (ex. painting, fence repair, dog house repair)
- Responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of all work spaces; including animal control vehicles.
* All animals are not cooperative. Only Animal Control Officers handle those that are deemed dangerous but ALL employees must be vigilant because an animal's attitude can change.
Required Qualifications:
Valid NC Driver's License or reliable means of transportation to work
Drug test and background check.

18 years of age or older

Experience working with animals in a business or farm setting
