Part Time Counselor- College Counseling Center
Position Summary:
The Part-Time Counselor provides mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and wellness programming to support the personal, emotional, and academic success of college students. This role involves individual and group counseling, outreach activities, consultation with faculty/staff, and collaboration with campus partners to promote a supportive campus environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide short-term individual counseling, group therapy, and crisis intervention services to students.
- Conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with campus departments (e.g., Residence Life, Student Affairs, Faculty, Campus Security) to provide consultation and referrals.
- Design and facilitate workshops, outreach presentations, and wellness initiatives on topics such as stress management, relationships, anxiety, depression, identity, and coping skills.
- Participate in case consultations and staff meetings to coordinate student care.
- Provide crisis on-call support during assigned work hours.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the ethical standards of counseling and mental health practice.
- Refer students to appropriate community providers when long-term or specialized care is needed.
