Part-time Custodian

The Wabasha-Kellogg School District is seeking a qualified individual to fill a part-time custodian position with approximate weekday hours of 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. This is a 9-12 month position, with some weekend shifts.

Duties:

• General cleaning, inside maintenance, painting, moving furniture

• Outside work, mowing, trimming, general maintenance of equipment

• Special project work and some heavy lifting

• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in custodial, cleaning and general maintenance including HVAC, boilers, plumbing, electrical, etc.

• Experience with outside work including mowing, trimming, general maintenance of equipment, and other outside related tasks

• Self-starter, motivated, and eager to finish tasks

• Works well both independently and as a team member

• Ability to problem solve, diagnose potential problems, and plan use of time effectively

• Interacts well with community, staff, and students

• Ability to provide customer friendly service

The rural district has an outstanding and supportive culture and is located within the bluffs of the Mississippi River Valley. Our elementary school was recognized as a Minnesota School of Excellence in 2025. In 2023, the community supported a $16.2 million dollar referendum for facility improvements and renovations. Renovations began in the summer of 2025, and are nearing completion.

Compensation will be per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
