Part-Time Junior Product Engineer – Full Stack & Production Deployment

Salary: $2,000 – $2,500 per month

The hiring company is a Singapore-based technology startup supported through NUS Enterprise and Enterprise Singapore programmes, developing a digital employee engagement, learning and wellbeing platform for enterprises.

This is a part-time 3-month contract role, suitable for fresh graduates and early-career developers with good practical software development skills who are looking for meaningful hands-on experience working on a live commercial technology product. Approximately 6 half-days per week, with working days and hours to be mutually agreed. You will work closely with the founders and product team and will be involved in both product development and production deployment.

There is potential for the successful candidate to convert into a full-time permanent Product Engineer role based on performance, suitability and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities :-

  • Develop and improve product features using Manus and other AI-assisted development tools

  • Work on the existing React / TypeScript and Node.js / Express application

  • Translate business and product requirements into working software

  • Develop and maintain APIs, application logic and database functions

  • Work with MySQL databases and support database migration

  • Implement and troubleshoot authentication, login, user permissions and access controls

  • Review, test and improve AI-generated code before deployment

  • Maintain proper Git and GitHub workflows

  • Support migration from the existing prototype environment into external staging and production environments

  • Assist with cloud deployment, database backups, restoration and media migration

  • Test key user journeys including login, permissions, media access and data integrity

  • Troubleshoot application, database, integration and deployment issues

  • Support production monitoring and technical documentation

  • Assist with deployment procedures, backups, recovery and rollback processes

We welcome :-

  • Fresh university or polytechnic graduates

  • Graduates in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related disciplines

  • Early-career developers with approximately 0–3 years of experience

  • Candidates who have developed applications through school projects, personal projects, freelance work, internships, hackathons or startup projects

You should have practical knowledge of :-

  • JavaScript and/or TypeScript

  • React

  • Node.js / Express

  • REST APIs

  • SQL / MySQL

  • Git and GitHub

  • Full-stack web application development

  • Testing and debugging

Most importantly, you should be :-

  • Hands-on and willing to solve problem

  • Able to learn quickly

  • Comfortable understanding an existing codebase

  • Able to work independently after receiving direction

  • Able to review AI-generated code rather than simply accepting generated output

  • Responsible when handling confidential information, credentials and user data

  • Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical team members

  • Interested in building and improving a live commercial technology product

Experience in any of the following would be an advantage :-

  • Manus or other AI-assisted development environments

  • DigitalOcean, Supabase, AWS or similar cloud platforms

  • Database migration

  • S3-compatible object storage

  • Authentication, sessions and access-control systems

  • DNS and transactional email configuration

  • CI/CD

  • Application logging and production monitoring

  • Deployment of your own web applications

  • Startup, freelance or hackathon experience

  • Public GitHub portfolio or deployed applications
