Looking for a little extra income without a full-time nursing schedule?

Are you an LPN looking for a predictable part-time opportunity? Would you enjoy working in a residential setting where you can build relationships, provide individualized support, and make a difference in someone's everyday life?

The Arc of the Ozarks is seeking a dependable, compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to support an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential home.

This position offers a consistent two-day schedule, with 24 hours of work each week. It may be a great fit for an LPN seeking supplemental income, a second job, or a more predictable alternative to a traditional nursing schedule.

Why consider this opportunity?

  • A consistent schedule: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM.

  • Just two days a week: Enjoy a defined 24-hour weekly commitment.

  • Competitive hourly pay: $28.00 to $32.50 an hour

  • Meaningful work: Build a relationship with the individual you support and contribute to their comfort, independence, and quality of life.

  • A residential environment: Provide individualized support in a home setting rather than a busy hospital or large nursing facility.

  • Training and development: Receive required initial and ongoing training and certification opportunities.

What does the role involve?

This position combines required nursing responsibilities with residential support. This position includes providing feeding-tube care and other identified nursing support in accordance with the individual's care plan, applicable nursing requirements, and organizational procedures. Nursing tasks make up a smaller portion of the overall shift, while much of the day involves supporting the individual's activities of daily living.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing required feeding-tube care in accordance with the individual's care plan, applicable nursing requirements, and organizational procedures.

  • Administering medications and addressing other identified health needs within the scope of the position.

  • Monitoring the individual's well-being and reporting changes in physical, mental, or behavioral condition.

  • Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living, including hygiene, dressing, and other individualized support.

  • Supporting daily routines, meals, activities, and independence.

  • Completing required documentation and communicating with the nursing and residential support teams.

  • Maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive home environment.

You will collaborate with the Program Supervisor, Community RN, and other members of the support team.

Please note: This is a hands-on residential support position, not a traditional clinic or hospital nursing role. The LPN must be present in the home for the entire scheduled shift and must be comfortable assisting with the individual's daily living needs in addition to performing nursing duties.

What qualifications are required?

  • An active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Missouri.

  • Compassion, patience, reliability, and a commitment to respectful, person-centered care.

  • Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.

  • The ability to work independently while following care plans and organizational procedures.

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a valid Class E driver's license within 30 days of employment.

  • Reliable personal transportation that is properly registered, licensed, and insured.

Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred. Training requirements and applicable nursing competencies must be met before performing assigned clinical tasks.

What should you know before applying?

The regular schedule is Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Required initial training and certifications will be completed during orientation / training the first two weeks of employment (Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.) Applicants must be available for this two-week training.
