Part Time - Manual Pusher

Job Summary:

The Part-Time Manual Pusher is responsible for supporting day-to-day hospital delivery and transportation operations at the assigned hospital site. The role works alongside OTSAW's robotics operations and Service Team to ensure that items are transported safely and promptly between designated hospital locations.

Where robotic delivery is unavailable, temporarily interrupted, or manual assistance is required, the Manual Pusher will carry out the delivery manually using designated trolleys or other approved transportation equipment.

This position is offered on a 3-month part-time contract basis and may be renewed or extended subject to operational requirements, work performance and manpower needs. As the position operates within a healthcare environment, the employee is required to comply strictly with hospital safety, infection control, security and operational requirements.


Job Descriptions:

1. Manual Delivery & Transportation

· Perform manual transportation and delivery of items within the hospital premises using designated trolleys or equipment.

· Collect and deliver items between assigned hospital departments, wards, service areas and designated collection/drop-off points.

· Follow assigned delivery schedules, routes and instructions provided by the Site Lead or hospital representative.

· Ensure deliveries are completed accurately and within the required timeframe.

· Verify the correct collection and delivery locations before completing each assignment.

· Handle transported items carefully and responsibly.

· Provide manual delivery support when robotic delivery is unavailable or when instructed by the Site Lead.

· Support continuity of hospital delivery operations during robot downtime or operational interruptions.

2. Support Robotics Operations

· Work closely with the OTSAW Service Team and Site Lead to support hospital robotic delivery operations.

· Provide manual transportation support during robot downtime, maintenance, technical issues or other operational interruptions.

· Assist with basic operational activities relating to robotic delivery when instructed.

· Promptly report any robot-related operational issues observed during daily duties to the Site Lead or Service Team.

· Do not attempt to repair or troubleshoot robots unless specifically trained and authorized.

3. Hospital Site Compliance

· Comply with all hospital policies, safety requirements and site regulations.

· Follow hospital infection prevention and control requirements.

· Wear the required uniform, identification pass and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), where applicable.

· Maintain professional conduct when interacting with hospital staff, patients, visitors and members of the public.

· Access only authorized areas within the hospital.

· Maintain confidentiality of any patient or hospital information encountered during the course of work.

4. Trolley & Equipment Handling

· Handle trolleys and assigned equipment safely and properly.

· Conduct basic visual checks before using assigned equipment.

· Keep trolleys clean and return them to the designated location after use.

· Immediately report damaged, unsafe or missing equipment to the Site Lead.

· Do not overload trolleys or transport items in an unsafe manner.

5. Attendance & Shift Responsibilities

· Report for duty punctually according to the assigned roster.

· Complete the full scheduled shift unless otherwise authorized.

· Inform the Site Lead promptly in the event of absence or inability to report for duty.

· Ensure proper handover to the next shift where applicable.

· Be available to work according to the assigned roster, including weekends and Public Holidays where required.

· Perform other reasonable operational duties assigned by the Site Lead or Management.
Work Locations & Working Hours:

1. CGH – Changi General Hospital

· Operating Days: Monday to Sunday

· Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

· Shift Duration: 12 hours

2. NTF – Ng Teng Fong General Hospital

· Operating Days: Monday to Sunday

· Shift 1: 5:30 AM – 3:30 PM & Shift 2: 10:30 AM – 8:30 PM

· Shift Duration: 10 hours

Skillsets:

· Minimum Primary/Secondary education or equivalent.

· Prior experience in hospital operations, healthcare, logistics, porter or delivery work is advantageous but not mandatory.

· Physically fit and able to walk, stand and push trolleys for extended periods.

· Comfortable performing repetitive manual transportation duties.

· Able to understand and follow instructions.

· Responsible, punctual and reliable.

· Basic communication skills in English.

· Able to work according to an assigned roster, including weekends and Public Holidays where required.

· Must meet hospital site-entry, vaccination, health screening and security/pass requirements where applicable.
