Part-time Operations Admin - Ikeja

PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION TO THE END BEFORE APPLYING.

Azarai has been designing engagement and wedding rings in Nigeria since 2014. We work with moissanite, lab diamonds, natural diamonds and precious metals across three stores — Ikeja, Lekki and Abuja — and an online shop.

We are hiring an Operations Admin to run the back-of-house that keeps all of this working. This is the person who makes sure the stock is accurate, the online orders go out, the repairs come back, the suppliers get chased, the stores stay powered and secure, and the team gets paid and scheduled correctly. It is a single job with one owner, based at our Ikeja store, and you report directly to the founder.

WHY WORK HERE

  1. Part-time. Three days a week, 13 shifts a month. Most admin jobs in Lagos take five or six days. This one leaves you four.
  2. Predictable pay for the hours you work. A clear hourly rate, paid monthly. No guesswork, and extra paid hours available when there is a special project on.
  3. You leave with skills that travel. Inventory control, Shopify and e-commerce operations, payroll, and running a tech-enabled multi-store business are difficult, portable skills. Whatever you do after Azarai, this experience is worth more than general admin.

Requirements

WHAT WE EXPECT

  • Accuracy is the job. Stock counts, payroll and expenses have to be right. This is a role where "roughly" is not good enough.

  • Integrity, without exception. You will handle high-value stock and outgoing company payments. We check references carefully and we mean it.

  • Turn up on your scheduled days. The stores and the team depend on you being where you said you would be.

  • Discretion. You will see payroll, staff records and financials. They stay confidential.

  • Own the outcomes. Every part of this role has a measurable standard — clean stock variance, orders and repairs turned around on time, payroll accurate and on time. You will be measured against them.

  • Be based at our Ikeja store. This is an Ikeja role. You will visit our Lekki store roughly once a quarter for a stock audit; day to day, you are at Ikeja.

  • Commit for at least a year. We invest in training you into the role and want someone who intends to stay.

DUTIES

  • Run cycle counts and keep inventory records accurate
  • Receive and check in new stock against purchase orders
  • Manage inter-store stock transfers
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
  • Carry out a quarterly stock audit at the Lekki store
  • Fulfill online orders — pick, pack, dispatch and share tracking
  • Maintain the Shopify catalog: product uploads, pricing and images
  • Write clear, appealing product descriptions for new pieces
  • Manage customer repairs end to end: intake, dispatch, chasing and return
  • Keep an accurate repairs register with every item accounted for
  • Chase outstanding supplier orders and keep the stores in stock
  • Prepare supplier and vendor payment runs for approval
  • Keep the stores physically operational — power, air-conditioning, security systems and upkeep — and coordinate vendors and servicing
  • Track and reconcile business expenses

REQUIREMENTS
  • You must live in Ikeja or nearby — This is a firm requirement: a long daily commute makes the role unsustainable, and we would rather be upfront about it. You should also be willing to commute to our Lekki store roughly once a quarter.
  • 2–3 years in retail operations, inventory, or operations administration.
  • Experience running payroll and reconciling expenses. You should be comfortable being responsible for money and records.
  • Comfortable with Shopify, spreadsheets and general business software
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, in particular working with CSV imports and exports and familiarity with Excel functions and keyboard shortcuts
  • Excellent spoken and written English. Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Impeccable integrity and verifiable references. This is a firm requirement, not a formality
  • Available three weekdays a week, with the occasional Saturday for stock counts.
  • Calm, methodical, and able to work independently to a deadline.

Benefits

WORKING HOURS

Three days a week, 9am to 5pm (an 8-hour day), approximately 13 shifts a month.

Primarily weekdays, with the occasional Saturday when a stock count or receiving window falls there. The schedule is agreed in advance and is stable month to month.

REMUNERATION

Paid monthly in arrears, pro-rata for hours worked.

  • ₦850 per hour. At a standard schedule of three days a week, 9am–5pm (approximately 104 hours a month), this works out to around ₦88,400 per month.
  • Occasional additional paid hours are available for defined projects — for example a full catalog rebuild — at the same hourly rate.

LOCATION

The role is on-site in Ikeja, Lagos

DURATION

The role is flexible but we would like at least a one-year commitment
