Part-Time Product & Packshot Photographer and Retoucher- Freelance Position
Summary
A part‑time photographer/retoucher will shoot and edit jewelry product images, handling studio lighting, creating e‑commerce packshots and creative hero shots, and using AI‑driven tools like Photoshop Generative Fill to deliver web‑ready assets.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, Part-Time Product Photographer to take over jewelry shoot workflows. Jewelry photography is a craft of its own, demanding precise control over reflections, focus, and lighting.
In this role, you will be responsible for taking consistent, high-standard studio packshots for our e-commerce catalog, as well as stylized, creative hero shots for campaigns and social media. You will oversee the process from lighting setup and shooting to post-processing, leveraging modern AI retouching tools to deliver clean, web-ready assets.
NOTE - Portfolio submission is required for consideration. Candidates must provide a portfolio demonstrating relevant experience in jewelry photography, reflective products, and macro photography as part of their application.
Responsibilities
Studio Lighting & Shooting:
- Set up, adjust, and master studio lighting to highlight metals, gemstones, and intricate details while controlling unwanted reflections and glare.
- Execute consistent, clean e-commerce packshots on white/neutral backgrounds.
- Work closely with our creative team to shoot creative lifestyle/hero images for marketing and social channels.
Post-Processing & Retouching:
- Retouch raw images to eliminate dust, scratches, color casts, and imperfections.
- Utilize modern AI-driven editing and retouching tools (e.g., Photoshop Generative Fill, modern plug-ins, automated background cleanup and AI platforms) to streamline the post-production workflow without sacrificing quality.
- Perform color correction to ensure gemstone and metal tones are 100% true to life.
Formatting & Delivery:
- Crop, resize, and optimize images according to specific website and platform guidelines (aspect ratios, file sizes, naming conventions).
- Maintain strict visual consistency across batch uploads and catalog updates.
