Discussion

D. M. Keith is looking for an experienced and commercially focused Parts Manager to join our growing Aftersales team in Sheffield.

This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for the Parts operation supporting Mercedes-Benz, Changan, Subaru and Mitsubishi, alongside our growing Trade Parts business.

We are looking for someone who understands that a great Parts operation is about much more than ordering and supplying parts. You will play a key role in ensuring our workshops have the parts they need, our customers receive an excellent service, and our Trade Parts operation continues to grow profitably.

You will lead the Parts team, manage stock and suppliers, maximise sales and gross profit, and work closely with our Aftersales and Workshop teams to deliver an efficient, commercially successful operation.

About the business

D. M. Keith is a well-established and growing automotive group with a strong family culture and an ambitious approach to the future.

We believe in investing in our people and creating an environment where talented individuals can develop and succeed.

Joining our Sheffield Aftersales operation gives you the opportunity to work with an exciting portfolio of brands, including Mercedes-Benz, Changan, Subaru and Mitsubishi, while playing an important role in growing our Trade Parts business.

You'll be joining a business where your ideas and experience can make a genuine difference.

About the role

As Parts Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the Parts Department, including:

  • Leading, developing and motivating the Parts team.
  • Managing Parts operations across Mercedes-Benz, Changan, Subaru and Mitsubishi.
  • Developing and growing our Trade Parts business and customer base.
  • Ensuring excellent parts availability for our workshop and retail customers.
  • Managing stock levels, ordering, obsolete stock and stock ageing.
  • Maximising Parts sales, profitability and gross margin.
  • Managing Parts purchasing and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Monitoring and improving Parts department KPIs and financial performance.
  • Ensuring accurate stock control and regular stock checks.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase Parts sales and improve departmental profitability.
  • Working closely with Service Advisors, Technicians and Aftersales Management to minimise vehicle downtime.
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Ensuring all Parts processes, systems and manufacturer standards are followed.
  • Delivering consistently high levels of customer service.
  • Supporting the wider Aftersales team to achieve our commercial and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Ensuring the department operates safely, efficiently and in line with company policies.

About you

We're looking for an experienced Parts professional who is ready to take the next step in their career, or an established Parts Manager looking for a new challenge.

You will be commercially minded, organised, energetic and customer focused.

You don't need to have worked across all four brands. What's important is that you have strong automotive Parts experience, understand what makes a successful Parts Department tick, and have the ambition to improve performance.

If you're someone who enjoys leading a team, growing sales, improving processes and seeing the results of your work, we'd love to hear from you.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Parts Manager, Assistant Parts Manager or experienced Parts Supervisor within the automotive sector.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and Parts Department operations.
  • Experience of working with workshop, retail and/or Trade Parts customers.
  • A strong commercial understanding, with the ability to manage sales, margins and stock effectively.
  • Experience of leading and developing a team.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around stock control and financial performance.
  • The confidence to work across multiple franchises and manufacturer requirements.
  • A genuine passion for delivering great customer service.

Trade Parts experience would be highly advantageous.

What we offer:

  • Competitive basic salary, dependent on experience.
  • Performance-related bonus opportunity.
  • Company benefits package.
  • Manufacturer training and ongoing development.
  • Career development opportunities within a growing automotive group.
  • A supportive and professional working environment.
  • The opportunity to work with multiple premium and growing automotive brands.
  • The opportunity to develop and grow our Trade Parts operation.
  • The chance to make your mark on a commercially important Aftersales department.

We are an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, age, national origin, religion, disability or other characteristics.
