Job Type: Direct Hire
Shift: 2nd Shift
Starting Pay: $39.00/hour — higher depending on experience
Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hour for 2nd Shift

We are hiring a Parts & Plates Shop Foreman to lead daily fabrication and production activities on 2nd Shift. This hands-on leadership position is responsible for coordinating employees, equipment, materials, schedules, quality, and deliveries while maintaining a safe and productive shop environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Direct and support shop employees throughout the shift
  • Ensure company policies, safety requirements, and work procedures are followed
  • Oversee shop personnel, equipment, tools, and materials
  • Plan and balance daily workloads based on production needs
  • Maintain and update production and fabrication schedules
  • Coordinate deliveries and monitor product status to support on-time completion
  • Communicate with other departments and facilities regarding production, quality, and delivery needs
  • Establish and maintain standard fabrication procedures
  • Monitor finished work to ensure quality requirements are consistently met
  • Review production processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and employee productivity
  • Maintain shop equipment and building areas as needed
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to maintain effective working relationships
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate material needs with the First Shift Foreman, Operations Manager, and Purchasing
  • Adjust work hours and staffing as needed to meet delivery commitments
  • Keep management informed of workload, production issues, and operational needs
  • Make day-to-day decisions that support company objectives and operational requirements

Qualifications

  • Previous managerial or supervisory experience required
  • Strong knowledge of the structural steel fabrication industry
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced fabrication environment
  • Available to work 2nd Shift, with overtime and Saturdays as needed
