About the role:
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Apprentice Partsperson is responsible for the receipt, secure storage, and proper issue of materials and supplies required for operations. This is a full-time hourly position that offers an attractive 4x4 schedule consisting of days and nights.
The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood, B.C is necessary.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Ship, receive and securely store materials
  • Perform duties such as: setting min/max levels, picking and filling orders, cycle and inventory counts
  • Operate warehouse equipment in a safe manner including industrial forklifts
  • Perform heavy lifting in a safe manner
  • Ensure the safe and productive completion of warehouse storage related projects and requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Identify opportunities to streamline business processes

Requirements:

  • Registered 2nd or 3rd year Partsperson (Warehouseperson)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong understanding of warehousing functions
  • The ability to quickly master a materials management system
  • Able to multi-task and meet challenges directly
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience in a mining or industrial environment is considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite® and ERP systems

Hourly Wage: $47.17 - 48.83
This position focuses on supporting parts room operations and supply chain functions in an industrial setting, including inventory control, shipping and receiving, and handling heavy mining components.
