Pastoral Assistant Faith Formation 1 - Salary
Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to develop, implement, and direct faith formation programs for children (k-5), youth (6th-12th), and their families, including faith formation, sacramental preparation in both English and Spanish for First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Youth Group.
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Pastor, Parochial Vicar, and other staff in implementing the mission of the parish.
- Participates in the comprehensive planning, implementation and evaluation of parish goals and objectives with specific focus on children’s ministry and family catechesis in Spanish.
- Assumes a lead role in registering participants and communicating all necessary information within and outside of the parish.
- Develops and implements calendar for Family Faith formation and sacramental preparation sessions.
- Utilizes approved and recommended catechetical resources complying with archdiocesan policy.
- Selects, submits orders, and maintains inventory of educational supplies and materials in a timely manner as appropriate.
- Recruits, provides/schedules training, and supports Catechists and volunteers who assist in faith formation in Spanish.
- Ensure catechists and volunteers comply with the Safe Environment Program and are or will become Certified by the Archdiocese.
- Partners with other staff in preparing and implementing Vacation Bible School during the early part of summer.
- Develops programing and recruit volunteer for Vacation Bible School in collaboration with other formation staff at the parish.
- Assures the development and maintenance of accurate and confidential record-keeping systems.
- Provides information to appropriate parties regarding bulletin articles and Mass announcements.
- Attends selected staff meetings, staff retreats, and participates with committee members on major staff events with advanced notification.
