Pastoral Supervisor - Weekend Day time

Rangi Ruru Girls’ School is a leading, innovative educational environment for young women from Year 7 to Year 13. We are proud of our strong boarding community and our commitment to supporting student wellbeing in a safe, nurturing and structured environment.

We are seeking a compassionate and organised Pastoral Supervisor to join our boarding team. Working 15.5 hours per week during term time (Saturday 8.00am-4.00pm and Sunday 8.00am-3.30pm), you will provide daytime weekend pastoral care to approximately 130 girls in Years 9 to 13, ensuring they feel supported, heard, and cared for. About the Role

As a Pastoral Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting the wellbeing and day-to-day experience of students within our boarding community. You will help create a homely and supportive environment where students feel safe and respected. Working closely with the boarding team, you will provide high-quality pastoral care, build positive relationships, and help students navigate personal and academic challenges in a safe, supportive environment.

This is a people-focused, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will support students through daily challenges, celebrate their successes, and help create a positive and enriching boarding experience. The role includes supporting students during prep (homework) sessions, encouraging positive study habits, supervising activities both within the house and off-site, and promoting a calm, structured and engaging boarding environment. You will also assist with administrative tasks, including record-keeping and communication logs, helping to ensure the smooth operation of the boarding house

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily pastoral care and wellbeing support for boarding students
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment within the boarding house
  • Support students during prep (homework) sessions and encourage positive study habits
  • Plan and supervise on-site and off-site activities for boarders
  • Respond calmly and appropriately to student concerns or behavioural issues
  • Complete administrative tasks, including record-keeping and communication logs
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with the boarding team regarding student needs
  • Provide daytime supervision and support to ensure a positive boarding environment
