Pastry Chef - The British Museum

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Pastry Chef with immediate availability to join our vibrant team at one of the most iconic cultural destinations in the world — The British Museum.

Our cafés serve freshly brewed coffee, delicious sandwiches, vibrant salads, and indulgent cakes — all crafted with care and quality. We Offer:

Rate: Up to £17.00 per hour

Contract: Full time / Permanent

About the Pastry Chef role:

• Food preparation, stock rotation and food labelling
• Lead daily pastry operations, taking on a management role to support the Head Pastry chef.
• Ensuring high levels of Food and Health & Safety are maintained at all time
• Work with the Pastry Team on a daily basis to develop recipes and deliver quality product

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
• Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
• Passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and high-quality food presentation.
• Strong commitment to maintaining high food quality and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across kitchen teams.
• Flexible, proactive, and adaptable approach to work.
