JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for all functions relating to the operation of the Richard's Building Registration for all patient types. This position will include working at the outpatient registration in the Richards Building. Some of the job duties include but are not limited to processing all incoming calls on a multiline phone system, provide information regarding hospital services and events, handles all hospital codes; monitors and responds to all alarm panels. Obtains correct insurance and demographic information, coordinates verification of preadmission activities with PFS Office. Provides customer service support for PFS to internal and external customers including taking patient payments and explaining questions about bills. Treats patients with utmost courtesy and respect in accordance with the Patient Bill of Rights.

DEPT. SCOPE OF SERVICE:

This department is the first line of contact for patients utilizing hospital services. It is our responsibility to provide each patient with a high level of customer service and efficiently guide them through the registration process and move them on to their next destination. This department is split into two different locations; the Main Building which houses the Switchboard, ED and Main Registration areas and the Richards Building which houses outpatient/lab registration. The Switchboard and ED In-Room Registrations staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week including weekends and holidays. Main Registration staffed M-F 6:00AM – 4:00PM, Richards Building Registration staffed M-F 7:00AM – 6:00PM and Saturday 8:00AM –12PM.
