Patient Access Representative

Full Time—72 hours per pay period

Daytime float w/ varying shifts including weekends and holidays

Kossuth Regional Health Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team. This front-line role is responsible for welcoming patients, registering them accurately, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and supporting clinic operations. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

What You’ll Do:

· Performs admitting functions for all patients entering the organization, including gathering patient demographic information and Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance information

· Greets patients and public as they enter and directs them to the appropriate department

· Communicates with all departments to facilitate patient care, patient flow, and special needs

· Operates central switchboard and directs telephone calls, paging, and taking messages appropriately

· Provide clerical support for projects and assignments

What We’re Looking For:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· 1+ year of clerical experience (healthcare preferred)

· Knowledge of health insurance and office equipment

· Strong customer service skills with a professional, positive, and compassionate approach

· Comfortable using electronic medical records and computer systems

· Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

· Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

· Commitment to patient privacy, confidentiality, and exceptional service
