Patient Accounting Specialist

Malvern Health, Inc. is currently seeking a Patient Accounting Specialist to assist in the management of patient accounts at our Behavioral Health and Treatment Centers, from the time of the patient admission to the concluding payment of services after discharge. This position is a full time, benefit eligible position working 40 hours per week.

The Patient Accounting Specialist is a member of the Patient Accounting Office team and works closely with numerous departments including, but not limited to Admissions, Utilization Management, Clinical and the Malvern Health senior Management team.

The Patient Accounting Specialist is also responsible for the following functions:

• Completing insurance verifications prior to admission in order to determine the patient's behavioral health benefits. This information will be communicated with the admissions and utilization management departments; as well as communication with the guarantor during financial counseling.
• Ensuring patient services are billed for accurately each day, follow up with funding sources to ensure timely payment and troubleshoot claim denials and payer issues for resolution.
• Complete eligibility verifications, assist with daily census reconciliation and cash posting.
• Other duties as assigned by the Patient Accounting Director and Assistant Patient Accounting Director
