Key Responsibilities \:

1. Direct contact with patients and provide various support services.

2. Provide assistance and observation during care process and assist in examination procedure and other investigative procedures.

3. Provide supporting service to the clerical team in preparation of the medical records, documents and stationery for consultation.

4. Perform preparation, cleaning, care and disinfection of medical equipment and consultation room facilities.

5. Assure the instrument count is correct and the working condition is satisfactory before use.

6. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the clinic.

7. Handle general enquiries; assist in coordinating patient flow, attendance taking and queue control.

8. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Entry Requirements\:

1. (a) Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; OR

(b) Completed F.3 / S.3 or equivalent with relevant working experience. (see Remark 4)

2. Holding certificate of the Health Care Assistant Training Course / Care-related Support Worker Training Course accredited by Hospital Authority. (see Remark 3)

3. Completed a recognized in-service training. (see Remark 2)

4. Good command of English and Chinese, written and spoken.

Preferable Attributes /Exposure\:

1. Has at least two years of experience in ward setting or Ambulatory Care Centre or Specialist Outpatient Clinic.

2. With knowledge of basic Microsoft Office program operation (e.g. Word, Excel) and Chinese word processing.

3. Be mature and possess good communication skills and inter-personal skills.

4. Self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure.

2. Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (3), if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ on the job training including the structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.

4. Candidates who have completed the JUMP program organized by the HA are considered to have attained F.3/S.3 level.
