Patient Counseling / Clinical Pharmacist
Advanced Rx is a compounding pharmacy in Fort Washington, PA, and we're hiring a part-time pharmacist
Here is a breakdown of the position. It has three main parts:
- Verification of prescriptions
- Counseling patients over the phone
- Speaking to prescribers' offices regarding clarifications, etc.
This role balances thorough prescription verification with active clinical and interdepartmental communication. Working across dual monitors, you will manage queue volume while fielding phone calls from patients and MD offices and addressing real-time chat inquiries from internal team members. Our patients are grateful for our help, and some may require additional counseling. Remaining calm and supportive is a must. We track workflow and verification metrics primarily to ensure the workload is fair and evenly shared across the team. You'll get regular feedback and support from leadership, and we'll genuinely want yours in return. Our pharmacists share the schedule and look out for each other, so a team-first mindset matters here.

We're a small business, so we make decisions with employees in mind, and we can pivot when a change makes sense (no corporate red tape!). We're closed Sundays and all major holidays. Compounding experience isn't required. You'll get extensive training and support during onboarding, plus access to all of our clinical and process information. We are a tech-forward company that utilizes the latest tools and guides to help you succeed in your workflow.
What we need from you:
- An active PA pharmacist license
- Genuine enjoyment of talking with patients
- Strong multitasking skills - you can switch between verifying prescriptions and incoming calls without losing focus
- Sharp attention to detail
- Coachability
- Solid computer skills
The general schedule is 2:00 PM–7:30 PM, Monday through Friday. There is also a Saturday rotation from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM every 4-6+ weeks.
