Per Diem
Position Summary:
Responsible for communicating with the ambulatory surgery unit and the operating room in regards to the flow of the surgical patients. Responsible for communicating with the Endoscopy prep and recovery unit in regard to the flow of the Endoscopy patients. Communicates with patients and families to keep them updated related to the progression of the surgical/endoscopic schedule and notifies of any delays or alterations in the schedule. Collaborates with providers and clinic schedulers regarding patient scheduling to prevent patient delays.
Education, License & Cert:
High school education or GED required.
Experience:
At least two years' experience working with patients.
Essential Functions:
1. Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills.
2. Provides coordination of the surgical/Endoscopy schedule.
3. Actively participates maintaining a safe environment.
4. Demonstrates organizational and time management skills.
5. Recognizes and reports potential or actual problems in a timely manner.
Other Duties:
1. Follows hospital and nursing department policies and procedures during emergency or stressful situations including fire and disaster drills, and emergency situations.
2. Assists in the orientation of new employees.
3. Seeks supervision and guidance when appropriate.
4. Demonstrates willingness to accept non‐routine work assignments as appropriate.
