Patient Services Representative-Intermediate (Endodontics)

Under general supervision, responsible for providing customer service to patients by scheduling appointments, performing check-in and check-out procedures, verifying insurance benefits, obtaining authorizations, and providing telephone triage.
  1. Verifies and/or obtains all benefits insurance information for patients.
  2. Obtains authorizations and referrals; assists in the collection of copays and existing balances due and assists with financial counseling as needed.
  3. Serves as an insurance resource for all clinic staff.
  4. Remains up to date on all insurance issues.
  5. Handles and answers all phone calls and transfers calls to the appropriate departments as needed.
  6. Manages patient appointments according to the physician's schedules and/or protocols.
  7. Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
  • Ability to monitor important and complex projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes/other email software.
  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing, to include writing and preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
