PAU Lead Operator
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and supervise a team of operators to ensure production targets, quality standards, and performance expectations are consistently met.
- Verify that all production equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operating safely; coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance with the technical team.
- Train new operators and provide ongoing development for current team members to maintain high operational competency.
- Enforce OSHA and Puerto Rico safety regulations, conduct routine safety inspections, and promote a proactive, safety‑first culture.
- Monitor production workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to enhance throughput, reduce waste, and strengthen product quality.
- Develop, update, and implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics teams to resolve issues quickly and maintain smooth production operations.
- Manage raw material and supply inventory, ensuring accurate counts and adequate stock levels to support uninterrupted production.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing or production operations
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or lead experience
- Strong understanding of production equipment, safety protocols, and operational best practices
- Ability to read, interpret, and enforce SOPs and work instructions
- Effective communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Basic computer proficiency (production systems, reporting tools)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Ability to work in environments with machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
- Ability to wear and maintain required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)
