Payment Delivery Manager

Oversee the end-to-end delivery of cross-border payment systems across APAC, coordinating regional teams and vendors to meet business goals and regulatory standards.
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Payment Delivery Manager to lead the successful delivery of large-scale cross-border payment initiatives across the Asia Pacific region. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end programme delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and regional delivery partners to implement enterprise payment solutions while managing risks, governance, and delivery excellence across multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities
Programme & Delivery Management
- Lead the delivery of regional payment transformation initiatives across multiple APAC markets.
- Develop and execute delivery plans that align with business objectives, project timelines, and quality standards.
- Manage programme scope, schedules, budgets, dependencies, and overall delivery performance.
- Ensure successful implementation of payment platforms across different business units and countries.
Cross-Regional Leadership
- Coordinate delivery teams across multiple countries, including onshore and offshore resources.
- Promote collaboration between business, technology, and project teams to achieve programme objectives.
- Balance regional requirements while maintaining consistency with global delivery standards.
- Drive effective communication across geographically distributed teams.
Risk & Governance
- Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Manage project governance, reporting, and escalation processes.
- Ensure projects comply with internal governance standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Monitor delivery performance and take corrective actions where necessary.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Build strong relationships with business sponsors, senior management, and key stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, milestones, risks, and delivery outcomes.
- Manage external vendors and delivery partners to ensure contractual commitments are achieved.
- Facilitate collaboration between payment platform vendors and core banking teams.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in project delivery methodologies and operational processes.
- Capture lessons learned and implement best practices across future initiatives.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement to enhance delivery efficiency and business value.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience delivering enterprise technology programmes within banking or financial services.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-country payment or core banking transformation projects.
- Strong knowledge of Cross-Border Payments and payment processing platforms.
- Experience leading geographically distributed teams across APAC.
- Demonstrated ability to manage programme scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks.
- Excellent stakeholder, vendor, and executive management skills.
- Understanding of banking regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Finastra or similar core banking/payment platforms is highly desirable.
