Payments Business Development Manager (Africa)

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the growth and development of the company’s payment direction by sourcing new payment partners, negotiating terms, and launching effective payment solutions in key regions, with a strong focus on Africa.
Your work will directly contribute to revenue growth and the expansion of our payment infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Searching and attraction new PSPs (Payment Service Providers)
Conduct market research in the African payments landscape
Source and evaluate prospective partners aligned with company requirements
Negotiate commissions, fees, and risk terms
Align legal, technical, and financial conditions
Launch new payment methods
Transfer projects to the integration team and support until production launch
Coordinate between PSPs, technical teams, and internal departments
Develop and strengthen existing partnerships
Renegotiate limits, reduce fees, and introduce new features
Analyze performance metrics of current PSPs and initiate improvements
Monitor market trends and competitors
Propose innovative and alternative payment solutions
Requirements
2+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or e-commerce
Proven experience working with the African region (payments sector)
Strong understanding of payment infrastructure, payment method types, and user behavior across different countries (with a focus on Africa)
Experience negotiating with PSPs
Experience managing contracts, NDAs, and aligning financial, legal, and technical terms
Ability to analyze performance metrics (conversion rates, fees, etc.) and propose improvements
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and drive innovative solutions
Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, Asana, Jira, Slack, WhatsApp, and Teams
English level - B2+
