Payroll Administrator
Position: Payroll Administrator
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Location: Onsite | Redmond, OR
Pay: $23-$25 hourly
Job Summary
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of weekly driver payroll. The administration of driver payroll includes daily approval of the previous day’s loads delivered and processing employee payroll changes, taxes and garnishments. This position works closely with each driver to ensure there is an understanding of the driver pay statement and annual earnings. Central Oregon Truck Company has a team-oriented culture and this position must be able to work as a team in support of the Lead Payroll Administrator.
What does a typical day look like?
- Process driver payroll information through ADP
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll and communicates any discrepancies with appropriate personnel
- Review and approve trips for drivers paid miles and IFTA miles
- Balances payroll accounts by resolving discrepancies
- Provides payroll information through questions and requests
- Comply with Federal, State and Local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements by advising management on needed actions
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
- Helps Accounts Payable with daily tasks
- Maintains employee confidentiality
- Responsible for getting mail and distributing appropriately
- Help with filing and other administrative tasks in other departments as needed
What makes you a good fit for the role?
- At least 2 years of payroll experience
- Associate degree or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Experience with computers, data entry, output, etc.
- Strong, concise written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to type 40 words per minute and use a 10-key calculator
- Demonstrate a good-natured, cooperative attitude
- Able to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Able to follow directions with a high level of accuracy
- Complete tasks timely
- Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
- Long hours sitting in front of a computer screen
