Job Summary
Leads enterprise payroll and workforce management operations, applying deep knowledge of payroll regulations, systems, and best practices to drive accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll processes. Partners with HR, Finance, IT, and business leaders to shape payroll strategy, develop operational objectives, and implement process improvements. Exercises independent judgment on complex payroll and workforce management issues, mentoring team members and guiding decision-making across the department. Oversees payroll governance, analytics, and reporting to support executive leadership in strategic planning and operational decision-making.
Essential Functions
• Manages, executes on, and resolves issues related to end-to-end payroll processing, including wage calculations, deductions, time sheet processing, and payroll adjustments.
• Leads payroll audits and ensures all records and processes meet regulatory and internal standards, providing guidance to team members.
• Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations, staying current on regulatory changes.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records, including salary, tax withholdings, and deductions, and oversees record-keeping standards for the team.
• Generates, analyzes, and distributes payroll and tax reports, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll inquiries and workforce management issues, applying diagnostic and analytical techniques to resolve highly varied challenges.
• Coordinates and participates in payroll audits, analysis, and ensuring records and processes meet auditing standards.
• Provides training and support to payroll staff to ensure knowledge of procedures, regulations, and best practices.
• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives, serving as project lead on payroll or workforce management projects impacting multiple disciplines.
• Develop and implement payroll process improvements, leveraging data and analytics to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
Experience Requirement
7+ years of experience in Payroll Administration or related field
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
