The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and critical thinking skills and will be responsible for assisting the Payroll & Benefits Administrator with a semi-monthly and monthly payroll as well as administering benefits.

Hybrid position: Work will be performed both in office and remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately, prepare and process both semi-monthly & monthly payroll
  • Reconcile pay discrepancies to ensure data integrity
  • Verify accuracy of payroll earnings and deductions.
  • Maintain and update payroll information regularly
  • Maintenance of federal, state, and local taxes accounts and assist with the setup of new tax accounts in new states
  • Manage 401k and Roth deductions and funding contributions in a timely manner.
  • Process new hire and termination paperwork accurately according to each state’s laws.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Process verification of employments
  • Assist with the annual Workman’s Compensation audit
  • Manage benefit enrollments in several platforms
  • Review and assist with open enrollment and qualifying events as they relate to benefits
  • Reconcile benefit statements
  • Process journal entries in accounting software as they relate to payroll & benefits.
  • Assist employees with questions related to payroll and benefits
  • Stay up to date and comply with federal, state, and local laws as they relate to payroll and benefits
  • Assist with the annual 401k external audit
  • Review and assist with end reporting such as W-2, 1099 and 1095-C.
  • Reconcile payroll tax accounts and benefit insurance accounts.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or relevant field is preferred
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of multi-state payroll processing and benefit administration experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor and payroll laws and regulation
  • Knowledge of benefit laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong knowledge of various software applications especially Microsoft Excel: Pivot Table, V-Lookups, filters, etc.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • High level analytical and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Possess strong organization skills working on multiple tasks with varying deadlines
