About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of payroll at People First Bank as we bring together two payroll operations into a single, best-practice payroll function. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring payroll compliance, governance and operational integrity, helping to deliver accurate, compliant and scalable payroll services for our people.
Working across UKG Workforce Management and Chris21, you'll combine your payroll expertise and strong understanding of legislation, awards and enterprise agreements to support transformation initiatives and provide trusted advice across the business.
Specifically, this will include:
- Ensuring the integrity and effective administration of UKG Workforce Management and Chris21 to support accurate and compliant payroll outcomes.
- Supporting payroll system enhancements, upgrades and testing to ensure ongoing compliance, accuracy and operational effectiveness.
- Conducting payroll and time & attendance audits to ensure legislative compliance, data integrity and payroll accuracy.
- Analysing payroll and workforce data to identify compliance risks, anomalies and opportunities to strengthen payroll controls.
- Ensuring compliance with awards, enterprise agreements, taxation, superannuation and relevant employment legislation.
- Partnering with Payroll, People & Culture, Finance and business leaders to strengthen payroll governance, compliance and operational processes.
- Providing expert advice and guidance on payroll legislation, industrial instruments, compliance obligations and payroll best practice.
About You
Proficiency with Chris21 is essential for this role
Additionally, you are a highly experienced payroll professional with a strong understanding of payroll legislation, governance and compliance. You are passionate about delivering accurate payroll outcomes, identifying and mitigating risk, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure payroll practices remain compliant, efficient and aligned with best practice.
We also seek:
- Demonstrated experience in payroll administration within a complex organisational environment.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, taxation, superannuation and compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting payroll and time and attendance audits, reconciliations and compliance reviews.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, investigate discrepancies and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience interpreting industrial instruments and applying legislative changes to payroll practices.
- Advanced reporting, data analysis and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide trusted payroll advice and guidance.
Experience supporting payroll system enhancements, upgrades or transformation projects will be highly regarded.
